Getting to know our department
The library department of our NGO is dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment for the intellectual and emotional growth of children, particularly those engaged in labor.
Our mission is twofold:
Firstly, we aim to challenge and critique the portrayal of child labor in prevalent Iranian literature. We advocate for a shift towards narratives that prioritize the perspectives and well-being of children.
Secondly, we strive to bridge the gap in literary access for working children by providing them with the means to explore the world of books. This is achieved through:
- Daily Library Access: Ensuring that working children can visit our library every day to discover and borrow books tailored to their interests and needs.
- Reading Programs: Organizing specialized reading courses designed to engage and educate both working and street children.
- Curated Collections: Carefully selecting and amassing a library of books that resonate with the life experiences and developmental stages of working and street children.
- Creative Expression: Encouraging the creation of original literary works such as books, poems, and stories that reflect the voices and experiences of these children.
- Literary Critique: Conducting thoughtful analyses of existing literature to promote content that is sensitive to the realities faced by working children.
Through these initiatives, we are committed to empowering young minds and advocating for a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive in a supportive and enriching literary environment.
